Campaign 3 Session 4

Joining Ser Liscena, the party descends into a crypt to deal with the undead within.

Summary

In the bare light of dawn, two of the queens knights wake. Married for the last four years, but flirtacious in their banter. Albedo must get to muster; also there is some sort of risky business about that they decided only one of them should be present for. They are not willing to betray their duty and run away with her, but he also doesn't mind so much being late for muster.

Ser Telluros says that the tale of the eighth knight betraying them, causing the remaining seven to be trapped in the tomb as punishment, would make his situation bearable. He informs them that Ser Aphelia the Distant Star, nor any of the others, can be defeated by mortal weapons, so she will be back soon enough. He leads them deeper into the complex. Another knight, dismembered, rolls past them, having attempted to breach where some interlopers have set up camp between the knights and their charge. Queen Selene explains that the enemies have set up beneath them and have constructed an elevator between the knights and their charge. Every day or two, they will send up an enemy that the knights fight.

Ser Albedo was transformed into a fell beast, a fiend which destroyed their own forces. They were sealed in the tomb to protect the world from them.

Accompanied to the elevator by Ser Telluros, the party and several of the knights formulate a plan. The knights will take out the construct and then remain in the room, destroying the scrying sensors that are in the room. The strike squad that will be dispatched to destroy the knights will be fought off by the knights and the party together. They will attempt to keep one of the strike team alive in order to activate the elevator, allowing the party to descend into the SMF base below. If this does not work, the backup plan is to explore the caves leading out of Ser Gravita's chambers, as they likely connect with the cave system the SMF are using for transportation and supplies.

As prepared as they can be, the knights enter the room to fight the construct, but Merely rushes in as well, easily taking it out with its own weapon. Ser Aphelia destroys the sensors as quickly as possible, and the party prepares for the strike squad to arrive.
